Unit Adds Pepper to its Portfolio

The food ingredients brokering company Unit Brazil has just added Pepper (black and white) to its portfolio of products. Unit´s goal is to achieve USD 1 million sales in 2007.

Sao Paulo, Brazil, December 23, 2006 --(PR.COM)-- Since 1994, Unit Brazil has been providing services to buyers and sellers of food ingredients, brokering deals of various products such as honey, fruit concentrates, instant coffee and alcoholic beverages in bulk. Unit is headquartered in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with a sales office in Perth-Australia.

As a result of the continuous efforts to improve the company's profile, Unit will be representing a couple of pepper suppliers located in the state of Para, north region of Brazil which responds to more than 80% of the country's exports. Together with Vietnam, Indonesia and India, Brazil is an important source of peppers, exporting about 40,000 tons/year, mostly to the USA, Spain and Germany.

"US market buys average 50,000 tons of black pepper every year, approximately 30% from Brazil," says John Laurino, Unit's founder. "We want to achieve in the first year of the project 3% share of the Brazilian exports to USA what is very realistic considering the very good commercial relationship we already have with important food importers," he adds. Unit's long run goal is to be the most respected Brazilian pepper broker int the US market.
